Description
The Suntec TAM series liquid fuel pump has a special design for use on industrial burners using distillate marine fuel (in accordance with ISO 8217). The pumps are installed on burners with a capacity of 3,000 to 30,000 kW, which allows heating large industrial buildings and workshops.
Suntec pumps can operate on the following types of fuel: low-sulfur marine diesel fuel (MGO / DMA), distillate marine diesel fuel (MDO / DMB), diesel fuel and medium viscosity fuel.
The pump is designed to work with fuel with a viscosity of 1.25-20 cSt. It is possible to use more viscous fuel under preheating conditions to reduce the viscosity to that recommended by the manufacturer. The operating temperature in the pump can vary from 0 to +150 degrees.
The injector pressure range varies depending on the pump size and the viscosity of the fuel used:
For TAM 2/3/4 pumps with a viscosity of 2 cSt, the injector pressure range is from 7 to 25 Bar, with a fuel viscosity of 20 cSt - from 7 to 40 Bar
For TAM 5 pumps with a viscosity of 2 cSt, the injector pressure range is from 7 to 20 Bar, with a fuel viscosity of 20 cSt - from 7 to 30 Bar
NOTE: The factory setting for the injector pressure is 20 Bar. The pressure range is specified for DMA/DMB fuel with a temperature of up to 40°C and a viscosity of 2 cSt. At a fuel temperature above 40°C, the maximum pressure is reduced to 20 bar for TAM2/3/4 and to 17 bar for TAM5.
With the factory pressure setting of 20 Bar, the pump has the following capacity:
For TAM 2/3/4 with a viscosity of 2 cSt, the capacity is from 310 to 990 l/h; with a viscosity of 20 cSt - from 500 to 1010 l/h.
For TAM5 with a viscosity of 20 cSt, the pump pumps 1350 l/h.
Due to the possibility of using high-viscosity fuel, the pump design provides for the installation of a heating element to facilitate the cold start of the burner. An important feature of the design of the seat for the electric heater is the absence of direct contact with the fuel inside the pump. The heater MUST be turned on for a short time before starting the burner to avoid damage to the suction gear pair. When the desired fuel temperature is reached, the heater can be turned off or left on constantly to maintain the operating temperature of the fuel inside the pump during periodic stops of the burner. It is worth noting that the supplied fuel, as well as all additional elements (pipes, filters, capacity) must be heated separately.
